Nadir Segla - First Details of the Upcoming Model

Nadir Segla - First Details of the Upcoming Model

Segla is the next model from Nadir Watches and a project that takes the brand into slightly new territory.

A smaller case, more classic proportions, a bracelet designed from the ground up and two distinctly different stylistic lines. At the same time, everything remains based on the same principles that have defined Nadir from the beginning: adventure, functionality and durability.

A Name Inspired by the North

The name Segla comes from the distinctive mountain peak located on the Norwegian island of Senja.

It is one of those places that is difficult to mistake for anywhere else. The mountain rises almost directly from the water, creating a raw and monumental landscape.

We visited it during last year’s journey to Nordkapp. We spent several hours in Segla’s shadow, enjoying the view and the calm of the North. It was one of those moments from a journey that stays with you for a long time - and eventually begins to inspire new projects.

A Smaller Case

One of the most important design decisions was to create a smaller watch.

Segla will feature a 39 mm case with a thickness of approximately 11 mm. It is a response to feedback from people with smaller wrists, but also a move towards more classic, slightly retro proportions.

The smaller size does not mean moving away from the practical character of the brand. Segla is still intended to be a fully capable everyday GADA watch - comfortable, legible and ready for active use.

Simplicity, Symmetry and Legibility

The dial design has been reduced to its essential elements.

There will be no date window, decorative stripes or details that disturb the symmetry. Everything has been designed around legibility and a clean form.

The twist will come from the colours, gradients and finishing of the individual versions.

At the heart of the watch will be the Japanese Miyota 9039 movement from the Premium series. It is a no-date automatic movement, making it a natural match for the design concept and allowing the dial to remain perfectly symmetrical.

Super-LumiNova C3 will provide visibility after dark. All versions will be made from 316L stainless steel.

A Bracelet Designed by Nadir

Segla will be the first Nadir model to feature a bracelet designed entirely from the ground up.

It is something many customers have been asking about for a long time. Instead of using an existing off-the-shelf solution, we decided to create our own design, matched to the proportions and character of the Segla case.

The bracelet will feature a butterfly clasp, helping to preserve its clean and symmetrical form.

Two Lines, Two Different Characters

Segla will be introduced through two main lines, planned as separate releases. A third line is also being considered, although it has not yet been confirmed at this stage of the project.

For now, we can present two directions.

Segla Elements

The Elements line will consist of four colour versions inspired by the elements:

Air, Earth, Water and Fire-inspired dials

Air and Earth will be more understated - pastel, calm and based on subtle tonal transitions.

Water and Fire will feature stronger contrasts and more expressive gradients.

It is a line in which the simple form of the watch becomes a background for colour and light.

Segla X

Segla X will be a different story and experimental interpretation of the project.

Its dial will use UltraBlack paint - a material that absorbs an extraordinary amount of incoming light and creates an effect of almost complete blackness.

Using UltraBlack required a completely different approach to dial construction. Traditional printing cannot be applied directly to this material, so Segla X will feature a sandwich dial.

The hour markers will be cut into the upper layer of the dial, allowing us to use full luminescence without compromising legibility.

The Nadir logo will be printed on the inside of the sapphire crystal. The seconds hand will sweep through the dial, every 5 seconds covering a minute marker.

This will allow us to take full advantage of the remarkable properties of UltraBlack without sacrificing functionality.

The case and bracelet of Segla X will be finished with a DLC coating. It will emphasise the watch’s extremely dark character while also increasing surface resistance.  This solution was very well received on the Vespera GMT Dark and is a natural fit for the Segla X concept.

The Next Stages of the Project

The first Segla prototypes should be ready in the third quarter of 2026.

Provided that testing, production and final adjustments go according to plan, the model is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027.

At this stage, we are not announcing the price yet. Availability of the Miyota 9039 movement remains limited, and prices are fluctuating, so final production costs have not yet been determined.

As before, our goal is to offer the highest possible quality, carefully considered details and original construction solutions - while remaining within the brand’s established price range.

Segla will be smaller, simpler and more minimalist than previous Nadir models, while still retaining the brand’s DNA.
