Beyond the Road – with Vespera in the Balkans

Building Nadir has always been about one idea - creating watches that belong out there.
Not on a desk, not in a glass case, but in motion - on the road, in the mountains, in places where time is measured by sunlight and dust on your boots rather than by deadlines.
This autumn, I took the Vespera on an overlanding trip through Bosnia and Herzegovina - a country that feels made for adventure and exploring. A few days and hundreds of kilometres later, I was reminded why this brand exists in the first place.
From the chaos of Sarajevo and the stone bridges of Mostar, to the vast emptiness of Vlasic Plateau, where we stood above the clouds - it was a journey that blended culture, wilderness, and the quiet satisfaction of the road less travelled.
We crossed trails covered in autumn leaves (and occasionally impassable by snow), climbed Pločno Peak through an unexpected snowstorm, and stumbled upon herds of wild horses moving freely across the highlands. These moments are impossible to plan - and that’s exactly what makes them unforgettable.
Through all of it, Vespera was on my wrist - scratched, dusted, and often wet from the cold. And that’s how it should be. A watch, in my view, should be a companion, not a collector’s trophy. Something that joins you on your adventures, no matter how unpredictable they get.
Time moves differently in the mountains. It slows down, just enough for you to notice it. And when it does, it’s good to have something on your wrist that reminds you where you’ve been - and maybe where you’re going next.
At Nadir, this has always been our goal - to create durable watches that feel at home on a trail, on a motorcycle, or by a campfire at the end of a long day.
The Vespera was built with this purpose in mind, and taking it on this trip felt like bringing it back to where it truly belongs.
